Glasgow Central Station trains disruption due to signalling fault

Commuters are warned to expect disruption on Glasgow trains this morning due to a signalling fault at Central Station .

Several services have already been cancelled, delayed, or revised, while National Rail say disruption is expected until at least 8am, potentially causing rush hour chaos.

ScotRail earlier Tweeted to confirm the signalling fault.

Their Tweet said: "We're dealing with a signalling fault in the Glasgow Central area. NetworkRailSCOT are now on site and are working hard to get services back on schedule. Once we have more information from the ground we'll update you."

The rail operator has since confirmed the following services are affected:

Services between -

GlasgowCentral & Wemyss Bay

GlasgowCentral & Kilmarnock

GlasgowCentral & Largs

GlasgowCentral & Neilston

GlasgowCentral & Paisley Canal

GlasgowCentral & Ardrossan Harbour

GlasgowCentral & Ayr

GlasgowCentral & Gourock

Services between GlasgowCentral & East Kilbride MAY be subject to disruption, ScotRail say.

National Rail confirmed in a Tweet: "Disruption to ScotRail services at Glasgow Central expected until 08:00."

UPDATE 7:12am: ScotRail have confirmed the fault has been rectified however disruption is expected through rush hour.
