Glasgow Central Station tours to feature 'amazing new museum' when they restart

People taking part in the hugely popular Glasgow Central Station tours will soon will be able to enjoy an "amazing new museum" as part of their visit.

According to the organisers of the tour, the museum will showcase "artefacts found in Central over the years" as well as "wonderful contributions from far and wide" for people to enjoy.

Glasgow Central Tours confirmed the news today in a tweet, which read: "We have an amazing new museum which will be a feature on the tours upon resumption, showcasing artefacts found in Central over the years and wonderful contributions from far and wide which we are sure you all will enjoy.

"Looking forward to showing you all round".

The tours, which organisers hope will be able to resume "by end of July early August" gives people an exclusive, behind the scenes look at the station, which was opened by the Caledonian Railway in 1879 on the north bank of the River Clyde.

Participants get to walk the subterranean passageways beneath Glasgow’s streets, visit the railway vaults that drove Glasgow’s industrial expansion to become ‘The Second City of The British Empire’ and hear tales of the famous and infamous people who have travelled the tracks and stood on the stations platforms.

Back in 2019, we were given a memorable private 30-minute sneak peek of the tour, and were blown away by what we saw and learned on it, and came away with the sensation that it is a must visit for Glaswegians and visitors to the city alike.
