Glasgow Central Mosque took to Facebook to pay their respects to their 'dear' member.

They posted: "In the early hours of this morning, an elderly member of our congregation, Mohammed Yusuf, was found in the Mosque, having passed away.

"To Allah we belong and to Allah we return.

"May Allah (swt) grant him a high place in Jannat Al Firdous (heaven) and the family sabr (patience) during this extremely difficult time.

"We thank the emergency services for their prompt response and handling of the incident.

" Police Scotland have confirmed that the circumstances of our dear Mr Yusuf's passing aren't suspicious.

"We request the family be given time and space to come to terms with their loss."

Tributes poured in online for Mohammed.

Margo Morrison Diop said: "What a beautiful way to pass, in prayer.

"May Allah grant him the highest Jannah and give comfort to his family."

Jill Iona Lynn added: "May he rest in peace. I hope he wasn’t alone."

Salahuddin Nawaz wrote: "A lovely gentleman and Uncle. Loved by all."
