Glasgow Cathedral is hosting a silent horror film screening accompanied by haunting organ player

Spooky season is officially underway - and Glasgow is bursting with weird and wonderful events from freaky parties to terrifying immersive adventures.

But you don’t have to wait for October 31 for things to go bump in the night.

If you are brave enough, Glasgow Cathedral are hosting a scary movie screening tonight.

Set in the spooky surroundings of Glasgow’s medieval cathedral, organisers are resurrecting the 1925 silent horror film, Phantom of the Opera.

Not only that but organ player Aaron Hawthorne and singer Rosie Lavery will be performing alongside the haunting film for a truly bone-chilling experience.

Part of the Glasgow Cathedral Festival, this after-dark, ultra-spooky screening of Phantom of the Opera is the ultimate event for the truly hardened horror fan.

Organisers said: "Consecrated in 1197, Glasgow’s medieval cathedral has played host to many spooky tales over the last 800 years.

“As you follow Christine and the Phantom through the haunted Paris Opera, will you dare to imagine what might be lurking behind the vast gothic columns, or in the soaring arches high above?

“Join these award-winning musicians for a hair-raising late-night experience—if you dare!”

The show starts at 9pm tonight and tickets range from £7 to £20.
