Glasgow carer who stamped on woman in violent shop attack banned from profession

A Glasgow carer has been banned from working in the profession for attacking a woman at a convenience store.

Skye Loudon was convicted of assault to injury at Glasgow Sheriff Court over the incident that unfolded on August 2019.

The care assistant was at Day Today Stores on Balgrayhill Road in Springburn when she and another woman attacked their victim who was stamped on, punched, kicked on the head and thrown to the ground, and hit with a drinks can.

Loudon continued to work at Broomfield Court Care Home in Barmulloch from the date she was convicted for a further seven months without disclosing the information.

The Scottish Social Services Council said Loudon's behaviour fell "far short of the standard expected in the profession".

The watchdog said the behaviour called into question her suitability for the profession as she demonstrated a 'disregard' for the law.

Their report concluded that Loudon's actions showed her to be 'dishonest' and 'violent'. It was decided that she should be removed from the register and will no longer be allowed to work in the profession.
