Glasgow cafe launches salt and chilli nugget challenge and finishers eat free

A popular Glasgow cafe has launched a salt and chilli nugget challenge and is daring it's customers to give it a go - if they can handle the heat.

Castlemilk's Cafe DM's spicy food challenge dares participants to eat 50 eye-watering salt and chilli nuggets and wash it down with an Irn Bru milkshake in just 30 minutes.

Bosses say the challenge was launched to rival McDonald's new spicy chicken nuggets.

The meal costs £20, but staff say it'll be free to anyone who manages to complete it. It will run until September 8.

A post on the cafe's Facebook page attracted thousands of hungry customers.

Cafe DM employee Chris said: "People seem to think it will be easy but they have no idea how spicy it is.

"If you finish it is free and we will post pictures of the successful challengers if there is any."

Cafe DM hit the headlines earlier this month when they advertised their salt and chilli breakfast bun.

The cafe’s morning treat contains all the Scottish breakfast classics such as bacon, square sausage and a fried egg - all with a seasoning of the two flavours.
