Glasgow cafe bar Stereo closes temporarily after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

Glasgow cafe bar Stereo has closed its doors today temporarily after a staff member contracted coronavirus.

The popular Renfield Lane spot, which only opened again last month after being closed since March due to the pandemic, announced the news on Facebook earlier this afternoon.

The closure will allow them to "manage the situation correctly" including a clean of all their facilities.

They wrote: "Unfortunately we're closing for today. A member of staff has tested positive for Covid-19 and we would like to take a little space to manage the situation correctly, including a clean of all our facilities.

"We've been working tirelessly over the last month, working closely with NHS guidelines to keep Stereo as safe as possible.

"We will continue to do so while we take this time to make sure we keep everyone safe for when we reopen. The staff member was last working on Sunday. If you're worried, please remember that being in Stereo recently won't mean you are at risk.

"We trust that our enhanced cleaning and protection measures will reduce any risk to other customers and staff, if you do develop and symptoms, please follow government guidelines, self isolate and arrange a test.-We'll get an update out as soon as we can.

"For now, we wish our beloved staff member a speedy recovery and hope to see you all soon."
