Beer lovers in Glasgow can now exchange their luscious chin-chops for a cold one with the news that a brewery is inviting men to swap their beards for beer to mark Movember.
Drygate Brewing Co., in the east end of the city, is hosting a pop-up barbershop to help supporters kick-start the month clean-shaven and raise awareness for men’s health.
This coming Thursday (October 31), will see the brewery transform a corner of its vibrant bar into the barbershop in collaboration with the acclaimed Legacy Gents, following the success of the brewery’s Barber Bash Glasgow competition in September.
Rob MacKay, Creative & Marketing Director at Drygate, commented: “We believe in the power of sharing a beer together, to start conversations and to spark change. Movember is a time for beard-rockers and beer-lovers alike to collaborate and help support a really worthy cause, in order to shine a spotlight on important men’s health issues.
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with the brilliant team at Legacy Gents to raise a pint to two things very close to our hearts - beer and beards. We can’t wait to welcome the local community through our doors once again.”
For those looking to get bare-faced, complimentary slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with donations to the Movember charity able to be made during the event.
And those who take part will be treated to a pint of Bearface, which Drygate describe as a 'medium-bodied lager boasting a long, smooth finish that is reminiscent of lemon rind, berry, honey, bread crust and biscuit' - the perfect refreshment after a close shave.
The pop-up barbershop will run from 12pm to 8pm.
