Glasgow braced for more rain with potential for flooding and travel disruption

Another heavy belt of rain is expected in Glasgow, which could have the potential to cause flooding and bring traffic and travel chaos.

The city has been inundated with rain this week, but there could be worse to come.

This afternoon, the Met Office has forecast further outbreaks of rain across the UK, with "the highest totals expected to be in western Scotland".

Meanwhile, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) have also published advice this afternoon warning of "disruption on roads and urban areas", with the potential for flooding, albeit low risk.

They say: "Minor river and surface water flooding impacts are possible on Friday. This brings a very low flood risk overall.

"Typical flooding impacts could include some travel disruption and flooding affecting isolated properties."

It is expected to rain in Glasgow tomorrow from 10am until 10pm, with further wet weather anticipated on Sunday and throughout the remainder of next week.
