Glasgow-bound plane forced to make emergency landing due to 'cabin pressure fault'

It has been revealed that a plane bound for Glasgow was forced to make an emergency landing due to an issue with the cabin pressure.

The easyJet flight was travelling to Glasgow Airport from Jersey yesterday (November 28) when it was forced to divert to Bristol Airport for a 'priority' landing.

The aircraft took off from the island at 3:11pm and was scheduled to land around an hour later in Glasgow before the diversion, Bristol Live reports.

EasyJet confirmed via a statement that the flight crew had requested the emergency landing as a "precautionary measure".

It read: “easyJet can confirm that flight EZY9816 en route to Glasgow from Jersey on 28 November, requested a priority landing in to Bristol due to a fault with the cabin pressurisation system as a precautionary measure and in line with our procedures.

“The aircraft landed safely and once at its stand all passengers disembarked normally.

"The safety of its passengers and crew is easyJet's highest priority.”

It comes after we reported how an easyJet pilot received praise for a safe Glasgow landing after 'four aborted attempts' at Edinburgh during Storm Arwen. The plane was forced to circle Edinburgh airspace for over half an hour amid the extreme weather.
