'Glasgow beer garden' snap goes viral as punters huddle under parasols from rain

Publicans in Glasgow would have every right to be pulling their hair out given the fact that the sunny weather and warm temperatures we were treated to at the weekend disappeared...just in time for the beer gardens reopening this week.

Thankfully, it's Glasgow we are talking about and not some city like Seville where - apparently - residents are known to avoid even crossing their doors if a pavement so much as gets as a drop of rain.

Glaswegians weren't going to let the weather stop them from flocking to the city's pubs to once again enjoy the taste of a freshly-poured pint or two after months of carry-outs.

And our disregard of the far-from-ideal outside swally conditions couldn't be summed up better than a photo that has gone viral - showing punters crouched under some parasols outside the Toolbooth Bar at Glasgow Cross to make sure they stayed dry.

The snap, taken from a nearby car, was shared by Neil Curran on Facebook along with the caption: "Well only in Glasgow? When the pubs open again for outside drinking? Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey? The Tolbooth Bar, Glasgow Cross. Ha ha ha!"

Neil Curran shared the hilarious snap of the punters in a post on Facebook earlier today. (Neil Curran)

Since it was posted this afternoon, it's found itself being shared far and wide on social media.

Not only do we 'stan' the Line of Duty reference, but we must say cheers to Neil for having us in a fit of giggles too.

Never change Glasgow!
