Glasgow bar transformed for Indiana Jones invites punters to be part of the 1960s film set

A bar has been transformed into a retro establishment as film crews descended and transformed Glasgow city centre for the new Indiana Jones blockbuster.

Areas like St Vincent Street have metamorphosed into 1960's New York, with everything from vintage signs and shop fronts to telephone cabins, newspaper stalls, fire hydrants and advertisements.

One of the venues to get a nostalgic makeover is The Drum and Monkey bar, which has been turned into The Yorkville Grand, Restaurant Bar and Hotel for the filming.

Despite its fancy new title, the original bar is opening each evening of filming from 7pm for drinks, giving people the chance to enjoy a pint on the film set - sadly without the accompanying 1960s prices!

Other areas of the city given the 1960s Manhattan treatment include a fake Subway station entrance built on Renfield Street alongside vintage taxi cabs, police cars and motors.

A huge parade scene also filmed on St Vincent Street yesterday involving a dramatic sequence of Harrison Ford's double on horseback being pursued on a motorbike. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled as we've no doubt there'll be plenty more action to come!
