The Calton Taproom are giving Santa a run for his money by delivering fresh pints of Guinness, lager and IPA and glasses of prosecco to doors in the city this Christmas.
The Glasgow pub will be taking to the roads with their kitted-out Guinness van with the promise of real pints in real glasses for thirsty Glaswegians to either enjoy themselves or send to friends and family if they are feeling charitable.
Speaking about the unique delivery service, The Calton Taproom said: “The Calton Taproom is hitting the road so we will bring it to you to help give you a taste of normal life this Christmas.
“So many people are struggling with all the changes to normal life – feeling isolated and having their festive plans ruined. Of course safety is the most important thing but we have found a way to bring a little taste of normality to people, safely at home.
“Our team are giving up their first Christmas off in decades to deliver festive cheer one pint at a time to homes all over Glasgow.
“The Coca-Cola truck might be off the road due to Covid, but the Calton Taproom Guinness van is kitted out, loaded up and ready to go!”
People must pre-order the previous day to take advantage of the delivery service, which costs £8 per pint (plus delivery fee) and includes a minimum order being four pints.
The service initially available from 2pm to 8pm on Christmas Eve, 11am to 5pm on Christmas Day and 10am to 10pm on Boxing Day, then again on Hogmanay, New Year’s Day and January 2, then again on Hogmanay, New Year’s Day and January 2.
