Glasgow bar creates impromptu 'new beer garden' in middle of city centre road

With the city enjoying some well-earned sunshine, we're all desperate for a beer garden.

For pubs low on outdoor seating, the last few months have forced them to get creative - with one business going above and beyond with its inspired idea.

The Pot Still joked about their 'new beer garden' after Hope Street was forced to shut due to a broken-down bus.

The busy city centre road was brought to a standstill thanks to the bus preventing any traffic from going down the street.

Staff at the whisky bar had the ingenious idea of moving a table and chairs onto the road in the meantime.

Posting on their Facebook page, they said: "Outside seating courtesy of a broken down Stagecoach."

Their followers applauded the move, calling the idea 'brilliant' and 'legendary'.

Some customers wanted in on it too, with one user asking “are you taking bookings?” and another saying “Why do I get the feeling that’s our table for tonight?”

One person declared the outdoor seating a better reason for closing the roads than filming for the new Indiana Jones movie.

They said: “Instead of closing roads for movies and for anachronistic parades, THIS is a good reason why the road should be shut.”
