A Glasgow-based architect practice has detailed how one of their staff has transformed their family home - and the results are truly stunning.
Steven Strang of S2 Architecture, which specialises in extensions, conversions and new build housing, took on the project to allow him to develop his house in Bishopbriggs and adapt to his growing family.
The brief was to gain another bedroom whilst creating a family open space at the two-bedroom semi-detached property, which was built in the 1970s.

However, that initial plan soon snowballed into every room of the house being altered, with a new two storey side, single storey rear extension as well a new roof, windows, roughcast, boiler, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, front and back garden.
Lasting a total of 18 weeks, the project saw the full ground floor real wall and gable wall cut away, with steelwork introduced to support the corner of the house. Extensive opening was also formed on the ground and first floor.
Speaking about the project, Steven said: "Having gone through the works, I have now got the itch to do it all again. I loved the process of initially designing the project all the way through to working with each trade on the site and organisation.
"Our family now has everything that we would want and in the perfect location which has made it all worthwhile."
The photos of the project show the severity and how extensive the construction works were and how the drawings and site dimensions had to be correct for everything to work according to plan, while also giving a glimpse of the final project.
And we think we can all agree that it really does look absolutely stunning!
