Glasgow Apple stores temporarily closed due to coronavirus pandemic

The Apple store on Buchanan Street in Glasgow city centre and at intu Braehead have temporarily closed due to worldwide concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.

Apple CEO Tim Cook issued a statement yesterday (Friday 13) detailing that they will close all retail outlets outside of Greater China until Friday, March 27 to mitigate the spread of the virus.

He notes that the additional steps are necessary "to protect our team members and customers".

The statement reads: 'In all of our offices, we are moving to flexible work arrangements worldwide outside of Greater China.

"That means team members should work remotely if their job allows, and those whose work requires them to be on site should follow guidance to maximize interpersonal space.

'Extensive, deep cleaning will continue at all sites. In all our offices, we are rolling out new health screenings and temperature checks".

In the meantime, Apple's online stores are open, while customers can visit support.apple.com for service and support.
