Glasgow amateur football team launches with amazing city-inspired kit

A new Glasgow amateur football team has revealed their first ever city-inspired kit - and it's one fans of the game might be scrambling to get their hands on.

With a Duke of Wellington statue crest, Glasgow Wellington FC's kit features a map of the city, alongside the city skyline and 'People Make Glasgow' logo on the sleeves.

As well as a tribute to the NHS with a 'Thank You NHS' badge on both sleeves.

The club has been started by four best pals, and they hope to do good both on and off the pitch when things get back to normal.

Speaking to Glasgow Live, player Curtis Rose said: "We are best pals (myself, Adam Weir, Ryan Watson and Scott Murphy) who have got together to get the team up and running.

"We have high hopes going forward but w'ell take it one step at a time. Right now we are just trying to generate some interest, popularity and a profile while we can’t raise much money in the current situation.

"The club has many plans to also do good on and off the pitch and give a bit back to communities."

Soon the team hope to partner up with a mental health charity to help raise awareness for men's mental health in the west of Scotland.

And they will also be helping the local NHS, by donating a pound to them with every goal scored in a game going forward.

As well as a sponsor, Glasgow Wellington FC will be looking for players to fill their ranks come pre-season.
