Glasgow Airport sees arrival of another huge RAF plane performing military manoeuvres

Planes have been taking to the skies again above Glasgow after the resumption of flights to both domestic and international destinations at Glasgow Airport.

That hasn't stopped the RAF from using the airport to engage in essential training for some of their huge military planes - which they say are necessary, routine flights not connected with RAF support to the fight against Covid-19.

This morning plenty of folk in the Glasgow are took to social media to share snaps and videos of another very loud, low flying plane as it performed 'touch and go' landings at the airport.

The plane in question was a RAF Airbus A400M, a massive four-engine turboprop plane which operates from its base at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire as a tactical airlifter to deliver supplies or personnel.

The 'touch and go' landing involves landing on a runway and taking off again without coming to a full stop, with the pilot then usually circling the airport in a 'circuit' pattern to repeat the maneuver.

Today's exercises at the airport are one of a large number that have been carried out over the past few weeks and months over Glasgow skies - turning a lot of us into avid planespotters in the process!

Did you spot it or hear it this morning as it flew above the city?
