Glasgow Airport exclusion zone put in place as emergency services examine package

Police Scotland have confirmed an exclusion zone has been put in place while emergency services examine a package.

A police statement advised investigations are ongoing following a 'spillage from cargo on board a plane'.

They say: "Police called around 11.15am on Friday morning to a report of a spillage from cargo on board a plane at Glasgow Airport.

"We are in attendance and the package is being examined.

"An exclusion zone has been put in place as a precaution and enquiries are continuing."

UPDATE 1.35pm: A Glasgow Airport spokesperson has confirmed the incident has now been stood down, with the package being declared safe by emergency services.
