Real Housewives' Leilani Dowding blames 'fat people' for 'making lockdown longer'

Glamour model Leilani Dowding has unleashed a barrage of scathing opinions regarding the government's coronavirus lockdowns and vaccination scheme.

The 41-year-old has previously been very vocal about her objection at being told to wear masks.

Now she has dropped the bombshell opinion that lockdown periods have been extended because of "fat people".

Talking to the Daily Star the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star said that her "lockdown is over" and she's going about her everyday life.

She claimed that "fat people are causing a strain on the NHS" which is lengthening lockdowns.

She said: "It seems that healthy people who believe in good food, fresh air and vitamins are accused of spreading misinformation and it tends to be unhealthy people with poor diets who rely on big pharma accusing them.

"After seeing articles and quotes from doctors about the correlation between obesity and the severity of Covid effects it's completely unfair that healthy people who are sick of being locked down."

In March, Leilani told her Twitter followers that people should stop using words like "fat shaming".

She urged them instead to "do something about the real reason we're in this lockdown".

"Fat people cause the most strain on the NHS - fast food open but gyms, sports, golf, tennis, yoga classes boxing classes, martial arts, swimming, ballet, gymnastics, all banned," she continued.

The former Miss Universe contestant got engaged to The Cult's Billy Duffy at the start of lockdown and previously launched a no holding back attack on the government's handling of the virus.

She fumed when it was announced that social media influencers and reality stars had been promoting the track and trace scheme.

She said: "If the Love Island lot are doing something, I'm doing the absolute opposite."

She revealed in September that she had stepped away from The Real Housewives of Cheshire in search of a "drama free" life.
