'Glam' mum did full face of make-up before giving birth to help her feel 'put together'

When you're in labour, close to giving birth, and potentially in serious pain, you probably don't give a hoot what you look like.

One woman did care though - so much so that she decided to do a full face of make-up before the arrival of her bundle of joy.

In the short TikTok video, Jen de Oliveira aka @jendeolive could be seen applying lipgloss to accompany a very glamorous makeup style - one that many women wouldn't even bother with for a night out.

Her eyes are smoked to perfection, with her face contoured as though she's been in the make-up artist's chair for hours. Her hair is also styled in bouncy curls.

The sound which accompanies the video says: "I already told you - the girls that get it, get it. The girls that don't, don't."

Over the TikTok video it reads: "Doing my hair and makeup because we are headed to the hospital in an hour to have our", followed by a baby emoji.

In the caption under the video she wrote: "Makes me feel better to be 'put together'. Anyone else feel this way?"

The video got a mixed response from people with some agreeing they wanted to be glamorous when they gave birth, but others just didn't feel the same.

"You look beautiful. Good luck", one TikToker wrote.

Another said: "I wore a full face of makeup for my scheduled c-section with number two. Do what makes you happy."

"No way", someone wrote followed by a crying with laughter emoji. "I looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards".

Another glam mum wrote: "That was me the first time. And I’ll be doing the same in a few weeks for baby number two!"

Others even asked the mum-to-be for a hair tutorial, with another writing: "How? I mean just how? I don't even have the energy to brush my hair. What are you taking to feel this good? Plus I'm only 32 weeks."
