Gladys Knight at Nocturne Live 2019: Empress of Soul joins line-up for Blenheim Palace concert series

Gladys Knight has been revealed as the latest headliner of the Nocturne Live concert series.

The Empress of Soul will play at Blenheim Palace on June 20, with support from R&B favourite Gabrielle, as well as Disco Classical, a group of DJs and orchestral musicians featuring original Sister Sledge member, Kathy Sledge.

Lauryn Hill, Tears for Fears and Kylie Minogue had already been announced as the other big names set to perform in Oxfordshire this summer.

Knight’s appearance at Nocturne Live will come days before she heads off on an eight-date UK tour, including two shows at the Royal Albert Hall.

She first rose to fame in the 1960s as the lead singer of her group, Gladys Knight and the Pips, releasing smash hits such as the 1973 single Midnight Train to Georgia. She has since recorded more than 40 studio albums.
