Gladiators star Hunter sends love to 'big brother' Cobra as he battles pneumonia

Gladiators alumni James Crossley, aka Hunter, has sent his love to fellow star Cobra who is battling pneumonia and other health conditions.

James spoke fondly of his 'big brother', who's real name is Mick Wilson, saying that when he joined the Gladiators back in the day Mick took him under his wing.

The 55-year-old fan favourite, who appeared on the hit 90s TV show, revealed he had been Gladiators star Cobra reveals he's seriously ill in hospital .

James, 45, shared a throwback snap of the pair in their old costumes, explaining that his pal had told him he had a bad cough before revealing the truth.

Mick is also being treated for pleurisy, a condition caused by inflamed tissue around the lungs, a ruptured bicep, and that he needs two new hips.

James wrote on Instagram : "Sending love to @toffeemcruby who has been struggling with some health problems.

"He messaged me today saying ‘I’ve just got a chesty cough’ but then explained a bit more."

He added: "Mick took me under his wing all those years ago and looked out for me like a big brother. Not just the pack joker but a big [heart].

The bodybuilder then recalled a fond memory: "I did take him White Water rafting once in Zimbabwe, not sure Cobras are great at dealing with charging Elephants. Good time."

Mick has said that he's ruined his body through gruelling workouts.

He rose to fame on Gladiators alongside the likes of Shadow, Wolf, Hunter and Jet.

He's also suffering from a massive rupture in his shoulder and is unable to raise his arm.

The fitness fanatic was hospitalised before Christmas with severe acute pancreatitis.

The star, who lives in Kent, told the Sun : "I pushed the limit and listened to silly Arnold Schwarzenegger saying you’ve got to take more pain than your competitors."

He says he's learned that feeling pain is his body telling him to "pack it in".
