Gjanni Alioski posts message to Leeds United fans after season-ending injury

Gjanni Alioski has taken to social media to issue a message to Leeds United supporters after he suffered a major injury blow that brings a premature end to his season.

The 27-year-old was forced off just 12 minutes into Leeds' 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Easter Monday and it has since been confirmed that he will not feature for the club again this season after a torn meniscus.

Alioski has undergone surgery, as shown in the image posted on Instagram, and will not be able to feature in either of the remaining Championship matches for Marcelo Bielsa's side, or the playoffs if the Peacocks are forced into that route.

Despite the blow to the Macedonia international and Leeds in general, Alioski was upbeat in his message when thanking fans for their messages of support.

"Thanks for all your get-well wishes! With your support I will come back stronger. C'mon Leeds!" he wrote.

Alioski is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks and fans will be hoping the next time they see him in competitive action will be on the opening day of next season's Premier League.

The biggest reason why Leeds United look set to miss out on automatic promotion
