Double your donation on Giving Tuesday
First there was Black Friday, the day when shoppers hit the high street to spend their pay packets on Christmas presents. Then there was Cyber Monday, when online retailers look to cash in on the phenomenon.
Now there is Giving Tuesday, when we are all supposed to take a long hard look at ourselves and give back a little to a good cause or two. To celebrate, Charities Trust have pledged that they will match fund the first £1000 of readers’ donations today. So if you were thinking of donating to the appeal, today is a good day to do it!
Readers are digging deep
We’re hopeful you will do just that - given how generous you have been so far. Since the appeal launched on Friday, you have donated a whopping £18,996.39! The vast majority of this was donated over the weekend, after our appeal launched in the Guardian and Observer newspaper editions.
Meanwhile on social media....
The Care Quality Commission, the regulator for health and social care in the UK respond positively to Star Wards new campaign to get pets onto mental health wards.
@starwards Hi, would depend on patient's needs (is it in the care plan etc) and the policies of the wards.

And your enthusiasm has left Molly wondering whether she should publish postcards and posters - or even approach a publisher
Started the day being interviewed by the Guardian. Ended it pondering selling prints and/or publishing a book. Just your usual Monday.
