'Gives me tingles' - Fans go wild as first look of Game Of Thrones prequel 'House Of The Dragon' released

HBO has released the first trailer for the new Game Of Thrones prequel ‘House Of The Dragon’.

The show was announced two years ago and is based on George R. R. Martin’s 'Fire And Blood'.

The book is set two centuries before the events of the A Song Of Ice And Fire novels, which Game of Thrones was based on.

Starring Matt Smith, Paddy Considine and Emma D'Arcy, the storyline follows the reign of the dragon-riding Targaryen family, Daenerys Targaryen's ancestors.

Considine stars as King Viserys Targaryen and Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen in the new series.

The new drama will see D'Arcy star as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower.

Show bosses HBO have also revealed that Savannah Steyn, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan and Theo Nate have also joined the cast as members of the Velaryon family.

House Of The Dragon is one of many Game Of Thrones TV projects HBO has in the works.

A stage show for the West End is also in production.

The trailer for House of The Dragon was unveiled today as part of a promo event for HBO Max’s rollout in Europe later this month.

And the highly anticipated first look racked up two million viewers within the first three hours of it's release.

Eager fans went wild online after the video dropped, with one saying: "Gives me the tingles watching this".

Another heaped praise on the 67 seconds clip, saying: "Best TV show of 2022. Absolutely no competition."

While there’s no specific release date for the ten-part series, HBO promises a premiere in 2022.
