Give us your Newcastle United XI as Eddie Howe faces another tough test in Nottingham Forest

Eddie Howe faces another selection headache this week as Newcastle United prepare to face Nottingham Forest on Friday night. The Magpies have had a number of players miss training this week after picking up bumps and bruises in their win over Wolves last weekend.

Nonetheless, Howe is expecting to have the same squad available to him for the trip to the City Ground later this week. The Toon are back on track in their pursuit of European football after the win over Julen Lopetegui's side at the weekend, and face another Premier League struggler in Nottingham Forest.

The Magpies won the first meeting between the two sides at St. James' Park on the opening day of the season, with Fabian Schar and Callum Wilson on hand to give the Toon a 2-0 win over the Premier League newcomers. Chris Wood came off the bench for Newcastle that day.

Fellow former Magpies, Jonjo Shelvey, could feature against his former club at the City Ground. Howe will be without January signing Anthony Gordon after a scan on an ankle injury looks set to rule him out until the Manchester United game next month.

Callum Wilson and Miggy Almiron dropped to the bench for the win over Wolves last weekend, with both coming off the bench in the second-half. It was the Paraguayan who would score the decisive winner for Howe's side, as they look to get the European push back on track.

The game against Forest is another good opportunity for Newcastle to make up ground on their fellow top-four chasers. Using the widget below, have your own say on the starting XI Howe should select for Sunday's clash against Wolves...
