Patrick Bamford returned from injury to grab an important equaliser against Brentford at Elland Road on Sunday..
It was a messy match for Leeds United however, with the Whites letting the lead slip from their grasp as well as losing two important players to injury, with Marcelo Bielsa unable to give any detailed post-match updates on Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips after the pair were subbed off.
Things had started well, with fans happy to see the return of Luke Ayling, who started on the right side of defence, as well as Patrick Bamford returning from injury and being given a place on the bench.
The first concern came within 15 minutes though when captain Cooper went down injured after seemingly jarring his leg on the pitch. He was able to walk, but looked uncomfortable, and played no further part.
Replacing him was Jack Harrison, and after the substitution things got back on track before Leeds got a 27th-minute goal from Tyler Roberts who prodded in a Raphinha cross.
However, in the second half Phillips went down in the centre circle with an injury, before trying to play on, but he was clearly not right as Brentford equalised through Shandon Baptiste.
After the game went to 1-1, Phillips was taken off and replaced with Mateusz Klich. A few minutes later however Junior Firpo lost possession and Sergi Canos scored to grab the lead for Brentford.
Within a few minutes of going behind, Marcelo Bielsa took Firpo off and brought Patrick Bamford on, his first match back since picking up an injury against Newcastle United back in September.
It was the returning Bamford who saved a point for Leeds by putting away a corner that somehow found its way through a crowd to reach him at the back post.
