Liverpool have officially announced the permanent sale of Danny Ings today, sparking a Michael Edwards love-in on social media.
The two clubs agreed on a deal last summer, meaning Ings spent the 2018/19 season at St Mary's, before the Saints made the move permanent with an obligatory £20m fee.
The Saints have today finalised the Englishman’s signing, which has pocketed Jurgen Klopp’s men a cool £18m, with £2m of the deal heading back to Burnley.
The Reds acquired Ings from Turf Moor four years ago, for a fee of around £6.5m.
Ings scored eight goals in 15 appearances during his Anfield career but was blighted by injuries before leaving in search of first-team football.
Given his bit-part role in the squad, Liverpool fans have taken to social media to applaud Edwards for securing another high fee for a player in the periphery.

Edwards has gained a reputation for being a smart negotiator, after extracting high fees for a number of the Reds’ unwanted players over the last few summers.
