Giuseppe Dell'Anno is crowned winner of Great British Bake Off 2021

Giuseppe Dell'Anno has been crowned the winner of the 2021 series of The Great British Bake Off in the highly anticipated finale.

On the last episode of this years season, Italian Giuseppe was announced as winning baker of the cooking competition after a tense final showdown alongside contestants Chigs and Crystelle in this nail-biting finale.

The three finalists did their best to beat each other to the top with their baking skills during their last tasks under the watchful eyes and critiques of judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.

However, there can only be one winner and Giuseppe was able to gain the honorary champion title of the 12 th series though after turning out an impressive and intricate show stopper in the theme of the Mad Hatters tea party.

Bake Off fans were devastated last week after fan favourite Jurgen crashed out of the competition due to a failure to impress the judges.

But Jurgen had no hard feelings and took to Twitter tonight to share his support for the finalists.

Crystelle had a tense moment in tonight's finale where she delivered raw focaccia to the judges leaving viewers at home frustrated.

Viewers at home have been watching tonight's highly anticipated show unable to tell who the winner is going to be, as it's so close between the finalists.

One user wrote: "i can’t call this #GBBOFinal "

Another said: "Everyone deserves it, I’m happy for them all, but I’m rooting for Chigs the most!! #GBBOFinal "

One replied: "my heart is in my stomach #GBBOFinal "

The last episode of the 2021 series of Bake Off aired as news emerged of the hit cooking show extending its contract with Channel 4 and Love Productions for another three years.

Bake Off originally was shown on BBC from the start of its first series in 2010 before switching to Channel 4 in 2017.
