April 06--Los Angeles-based Giuliana Rancic is relocating to Chicago this summer.
In recent days the E! media personality has addressed concerns over her weight, as well as whether or not she plans to rejoin "Fashion Police" when the show picks back up in the fall. (When "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie asked if she "will be there," Rancic said only, "We'll see.")
Now she tells People magazine that she, husband Bill and their 2-year-old son Duke will be moving to Chicago in August. The couple has split time between the two cities, but this appears to be a more definitive effort to settle in Chicago (or rather, suburban Chicago) on a more permanent basis.
The magazine reports that the couple, "who have lived part-time in Chicago (Bill's hometown) and commuted back and forth for work and their E! reality show, 'Giuliana and Bill,' just finished construction on their dream home. 'Bill and I both grew up in the suburbs,' Rancic says. 'We love that sense of community. And I have loved Chicago ever since we started dating nine years ago.'"
Rancic cites stability for her son as a factor. "Up until now, Duke's been on our schedule," Rancic says. "But he starts school at the end of summer and we want him to have a connection with schoolmates and not be going from city to city."
Rancic is due to appear Thursday at Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville to promote her new book, "Going Off Script."
She and her husband are owners of RPM Restaurant at 52. W. Illinois and recently posted a photo on Instagram with Bill holding a huge tray loaded down with appeared to be seared filet mignon with the caption: "Lunch...Chicago style ... Having so much fun with @billrancic and Mama Papa DePandi at @rpmsteakchi Best.Lunch.Ever."
