GitHub has launched Spark, which is a new no-setup development environment that allows you to go from idea to deployed full-stack app, just by describing what you want to build in natural language. The tool is now available in public preview for Copilot Pro+ subscribers, with broader rollout expected soon.
From Idea to Deployment: No Setup, No API Keys

With the launch of Spark, it looks like Microsoft is trying to simplify and accelerate the app development workflow. As it allows for describing an idea in plain English, Spark will generate the frontend, backend, and AI components automatically. It uses Claude Sonnet 4 under the hood and integrates deeply with the GitHub ecosystem.
With Spark, there’s no need to handle infrastructure manually. It comes with built-in support for data handling, LLM inference, GitHub authentication, hosting, and deployment, out of the box. As a result, you will get a fully functional app in minutes, not weeks.
All-In-One: Build, Deploy, Iterate
Key features of GitHub Spark include:
- Natural language to app: Build full-stack apps just by describing them.
- LLM-powered intelligence: Add features using OpenAI, Meta, xAI, and more, no API key management required.
- Visual + code editing: Switch between natural language, drag-and-drop UI, and code, with GitHub Copilot assisting at every step.
- One-click deployment: Publish instantly with zero configuration.
- Repo integration: Spark creates a synced repository with GitHub Actions and Dependabot ready to go.
- Copilot agent support: Assign tasks to Copilot agents or launch a codespace directly to iterate faster.
While Spark is currently available only to Copilot Pro+ users, the company has confirmed that it will open access to more customers soon. Spark usage consumes premium Copilot request credits that are already part of the Pro+ subscription.
Apart from that, while Spark is the headline of the day, Microsoft is also testing two experimental Copilot features that recently appeared in an unreleased build. It includes Animated voice avatars and Image-to-3D object generation. Though both are still under “Labs” status and not officially confirmed, I am expecting that Microsoft will release these features soon.
