Giro d'Italia Women abandons: All of the riders who have left the 2025 race so far

Giro d'Italia Women.

The Giro d'Italia Women is heading into the final day of racing, but not all riders will finish the race, with a steady steam of abandons throughout the week.

While all 153 riders finished the opening individual time trial, stage 2 saw two riders abandon the race in Aprica, and three more forced to the sidelines on a crash-marred stage 3 into Trento.

Six riders dropped out of the race on stage 4, then on stage 5, one more dropped out while SD Worx-Protime also flagged that world champion Lotte Kopecky would not start stage 6 due to back pain. Naia Amondarain (Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi) was another DNS on Friday, whilst five other riders dropped out during the hilly stage to Terre Roveresche.

After the queen stage on Saturday, the peloton was down to 127 riders, with the largest number in one day out of the race - three riders not taking the start in Fermignano and four failing to finish on Monte Nerone.

Second on stage 6 but not on the start line was three-time road world champion Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike).

"She hasn’t been feeling her best over the past few days, and in consultation with the team doctor and team management, it has been decided to leave the race," her team posted to social media Saturday morning.

On the finale into Imola, five riders did not finish, leaving 122 to complete the eight-day stage race, won by Italy's Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) for a second year in a row.

Riders abandon due to crashes, injuries or illness and can also be taken out of the race by the organisation, either by finishing outside of the time limit, 'OTL', or even being disqualified. 'DNF' means 'did not finish', a 'DNS' means 'did not start', and 'DSQ' means 'disqualified'.

Here is the list of riders who have pulled out of this year's race so far, which we will update throughout the eight-day event.
