Giro d'Italia Women 2025 stage 5 preview - A day for the sprinters in Monselice

Giro d'Italia Women 2025 stage 5 profile (updated).

Stage 5 is one for the sprinters with a flat 120km from Mirano into Monselice. It will mark a reprieve from the climbing before the decisive final three stages at the Giro d'Italia Women.

The peloton will tackle a primarily flat route, but overall classification leader, Marlen Reusser (Movistar), said that while it isn't a decisive GC day, overall contenders will still need to pay attention.

"I don't expect major changes in the general classification, but it's still a day where you can lose something if you're not in position," Reusser said.

Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) will be a favourite to win the day, having already won stage 3 in Trento, but she is in second place in the points classification behind stage 2 winner Anna Henderson (Lidl-Trek).

Another fast rider to look out for is Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike), who is attempting to add to her record 32 career stage wins at the Italian Grand Tour.
