Girls return lost wallet to man's home - and get heartwarming reward for gesture

Twin sisters Makhia and Makyla Vincent were walking to school when they spotted a wallet buried in the snow.

When the 14 year olds took a look inside they found hundreds of dollars in cash, credit cards and a military ID - and they knew exactly what they needed to do.

The girls' grandfather was also a veteran and Makyla told WJBK : "I would hate if that was my granddad and that happened to him, so I knew we had to return it."

The wallet belonged to Marc Walsh, a disable Marine Corps veteran, who had dropped it on his way home from the shop.

It was a huge loss for 'heartbroken' Marc who was struggling to find work, but the girls tracked him down and returned it in a gesture which Marc said ' renews his faith in humanity'.

The twins visited his address but found he wasn't home - so they held up the wallet to his home security camera placed at the front door and left it on the step.

When Marc discovered the wallet had found its way back to him, he checked the tape and says he was surprised to see his Good Samaritans were so young.

As the trio were introduced on TV by Fox2, Marc said he was 'so incredibly grateful and humbled' as he handed over the cash that Makhia and Makyla had returned untouched - proving good deeds do go full circle.

The girls, who said they simply thought it was the right thing to do, plan on saving most of the cash but spend 'a little'.

Makyla said: "I feel really happy and grateful that I could help somebody because I know other people could have kept the money.

"All of the sudden we were all over the news and people are saying thank you for turning it in and everything, it was great."
