Two missing eight-year-old girls who were reported missing earlier today have been found safe.
Police launched a search for Ava and Aubree, who were believed to be in the Guisborough area of Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire.
Cleveland Police issued their appeal this morning in a series of tweets, sparking the help of members of the public who shared their appeal more than 5,000 times in an anxious attempt to help.
The force has now reassured: "Missing Ava and Aubree have now been located safely.
"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal - there were almost 5,000 shares on Facebook alone!"
One relieved member of the public said: "Brilliant news glad they have been found safe and well big hugs to the girls and their families xx."
Another added: "What a relief! So glad! How absolutely terrifying it must have been!"
