Changing the World: Wateraid
The 3rd Herne Bay Guides raised £435 for WaterAid taking 29 people out of water poverty in Nepal.

Ameerah, 12, said: ‘Before we did the show I didn't how difficult it was for children in Nepal to wash in running water or use flush toilets. I really appreciate now how important it is to save water and to think of others less fortunate than myself’

In total, Girlguiding UK members raised £130,217 changing the lives of 8,681 people in Nepal who will no longer be in water poverty

Twenty-one girls from 2nd Lawford Brownies, Essex, raised £121 by learning and performing four water themed songs for WaterAid.

Brownies and Guides from ther 3rd Nunthorpe unit delivering a petition to Number 10 calling for a fairer deal for girls the world over.

Rebecca, 11, said: 'This campaign has made me realise how lucky we are in this country to be able to go to school, when they don’t get that chance in many countries.'

Almost 10,000 girls raised awareness of the Because I Am a Girl campaign through photography exhibitions across the UK. Almost £30,000 was raised, which will fund 550 girls’ educations in Liberia

Changing the World: CTW help the hospices
Doddleston Brownies delivered ‘good as new’ gifts to their local hospice shop, raising money and awareness of the vital role hospices play in our communities.

A Help the Hospices spokesperson said: ‘It is great that young people realise that hospices are an important part of the community and that they can contribute to their local hospice, rather than seeing it as a place to fear.’

In total, members of Girlguiding UK have raised over £118,000 for local hospices in one year completing 817 projects for 185 hospices

Changing the World: Save the children 2
As part of the Adopt a Shop! project, 4th Fulwood Guides volunteered in their local Save the Children shop to change the lives of children around the world. The 1st Pin Green Rainbows in Stevenage, Herts, collected 1824 Christmas Cards to be recycled.
