Girl taken to hospital after being hit by car

A teenage girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Bolton.

The crash happened on Chorley Old Road, near The Tempest Arms pub, just before 7pm last night (Wednesday).

Police said a pedestrian - a teenage girl - was hit by a car at the scene.

She was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Her injuries are not believe to be life-changing or life-threatening. No arrests have been made.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police were called just before 7pm to Chorley Old Road following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

"Emergency services attended, following enquiries no arrests have been made.

"A teenage girl was taken to hospital as a precaution - her injuries are not believed to be life threatening or changing."
