Girl, seven, approached by man in car in Bridgend

Police are carrying out patrols in the Bridgend area after a seven-year-old girl was approached by a man in a car.

The little girl was riding her bike in Cae Ffynnon, Brackla, when she was approached by a man driving a black or grey-coloured car on Sunday shortly after 5pm.

The man is reported to have spoken to the little girl before she cycled home and told her parents who called the police.

The man, who is described as having grey curly hair, did not get out of the car at any point. Despite reports on social media police have said it was not an attempted kidnapping.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "Officers have attended the area and have carried out a number of enquiries including CCTV checks. Patrols will continue in the area for reassurance."

Anyone with any information can call 101 quoting 1900276606 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
