Girl's head inflates at festival - but carries on the fun till her eyes swell shut

Some people allow very little to get int between them and having a good time.

Take Caitlyn, for example, who recently had an allergic reaction while at Kendall Calling.

Luckily a) she was fine and b) her mate Rhiannon was on hand to gently poke fun at her and lovingly document her friend's head swelling to the point where her eyes were practically swollen shut.

What had happened to Caitlyn was a case of angioedema, which is swelling beneath the skin caused by a reaction to allergens such as grass or wheat, which you can assume you'll come into contact with when in the countryside.

Day one, as Rhiannon, revealed on Twitter , and Caitlyn's head had started to swell slightly, but the girls weren't overly concerned.

Fast-forward a day, and the swelling is starting to look a lot more pronounced.

Rhiannon makes a comparison to everyone's favourite vintage brand of crisps, and then E.T.

As you can see from picture number four, below, the oedema in poor Caitlyn's head enabled her friends  to make shapes. We're going to put this out there, Caitlyn is a very good sport.

No one seems concerned at this point and there's absolutely no talk of going home.

Rhiannon then reveals that, eventually, Caitlyn paid a visit to the medical tent where she was given an ice pack to put on her head.

Still, the gang seem pretty relaxed about events as they unfold, and as Caitlyn's head grows.

But on the Saturday, partly owing to some other mishaps, the girls decide that maybe it's time to call it a day, and they get their mums to pick them up.

Caitlyn is told she needs to go to A&E right that minute, but she wants to freshen up first.

In case you were wondering , this is what Caitlyn looks like normally.

And for the "haters", Rhiannon has something to say:

"Disclaimer: for some of the saddos on fb n here who think that we are terrible friends for taking photos instead of going home...[she] is a nurse herself, she visited the med tent multiple times & thought the antihistamines may have miraculously kicked in... obvs not."
