Girl making dance video accidentally films moment she's rejected from university

A girl attempting to replicate a viral dance trend instead found that she accidentally captured the moment she received a devastating rejection email.

TikTok user LaurenFalk1 was filming herself dancing and lip-syncing on the popular video app in her car when things quickly went downhill.

A few seconds into the video, a notification pops up on the phone and Lauren smiles as she recognises it's the news she's been expecting.

With the forward facing camera continuing to film, Lauren's smile slowly begins to drop as she realises the answer isn't the one she had been hoping for.

As she sits back in her chair, with her shoulders slumped, the video shows the caption 'Live footage of me being rejected from vet school'.

The clip racked up thousands of views, with many relating to the moment.

One wrote: "I'm so sorry for you. Don't worry there's better to come from the sadness."

Another said: "Don't listen to the hate, I'm so sorry, you'll get em next time and you got this I promise."

With many people in the comments doubting whether the video was genuine, Lauren replied to one to say 'want me to post the rejection yeah?' to which they replied 'I do'.

And sure enough, Lauren uploaded a second video showing the original clip alongside an email from the University of Edinburgh, stating her application to study veterinary medicine for September 2020 had been unsuccessful.

The video was also shared to Reddit, where it gained thousands of likes from others who recognised the feeling all too well.

One wrote: "As someone who applied and got rejected from dental school for 4 straight years, I feel her pain."

Another said: "I felt this. I've gotten rejected from nursing school and it hurt."
