A young girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being knocked over by a motorbike in North Shields.
Shortly before 10.20am on July 31, police received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on West Percy Road.
Emergency services attended and found that a nine-year-old girl had been hit by a motorcycle.
The girl was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and is now recovering at home, police say.
An investigation is under way and a man has been arrested in connection with the collision.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "An investigation was launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision and a 34-year-old man was arrested and has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
"Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward and speak to police as they may be able to help with enquiries.
"Anyone who can help is asked to contact police via 101 or the online reporting form using reference number 281 31/07/20."
