Police issue update after girl hit by car on busy Liverpool road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was hit by a car in Liverpool city centre.

Emergency services attended Tithebarn Street after the crash, which took place just after 4pm on Wednesday.

Tithebarn Street was closed to traffic between its junctions with Pall Mall and Leeds Street while an investigation was launched.

The incident involved a Citroen car, the driver of which stopped at the scene and is helping Merseyside Police with its enquiries.

The girl, whose age has not been released, was taken to hospital but has since been discharged with minor injuries.

Doctor sent explicit texts to '13-year-old girl' from Liverpool

A junior doctor has been 'removed' from his training after admitting to sending sexual messages and pictures to a '13-year-old-girl' from Liverpool.

A lawyer for James Peter Farthing told the court of the doctor's 'emotional struggles' while working long hours on the Covid frontline during the pandemic, the MEN reports.

Farthing, 28, from Wilmslow who worked for the NHS in Stockport, admitted his guilt before magistrates before appearing at Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday (September 14).

Woman 'with 16 dogs' ordered to get rid of some after loud barking complaints

A woman has been ordered to reduce the number of dogs she owns because of how much they bark.

Abigail Findlay-Stankovic, 67, was believed to have been keeping up to 16 dogs in her semi-detached house on Bluebell Court in Beechwood, Runcorn, when an investigation began in 2018 following complaints from neighbours.

This led to a noise abatement notice being served, which she breached, leading to her being fined in March this year in a prosecution brought by Halton Borough Council’s environmental health department.
