Girl had £685 trainers 'stolen' at Winter Wonderland and had to go home in Primark shoes

A girl lost a pair of £685 trainers after going ice skating at Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland.

TikTok user sev_xx claims her designer kicks were 'stolen' after she handed them over in exchange for a pair of ice skates at the festive London attraction.

She ended up having to head home in a pair of black Primark plimsolls instead, MyLondon reports.

In a video that has since gone viral, the girl shows off a picture of her wearing the designer shoes saying: "I came here with these shoes".

She then shows a clip of the counter where she swapped her shoes for skates and says: "We went ice skating, gave my shoes there."

"And this is what I'm leaving with," she says, showing a photo of the new Primark pumps she ended up with.

"£600 gone down the drain," she adds.

The video is captioned "Go Winter Wonderland at your own risk, still never got them back," with an appeal to "duet this if you got my Balenciagas".

Winter Wonderland said it is investigating an isolated incident of alleged theft.

The video has amassed 1.4 million views, 131,000 likes and 2,991 comments.

Lots of people left messages of support for the girl.

Emma said: "I wouldn't be leaving till I got my shoes or money for them."

The TikTok creator responded: "They literally said they can't do anything for another week".

Issy Oakley said: "Corrrr if they think for a minute I'm not hopping that counter looking for me shoes."

Others were suspicious that the attraction had a pair of new black plimsolls ready to hand over.

But others weren't so quick to jump to the girl's defence.

TikTok user big h said: "what you get for buying them shoes", while Frosty_yam said: "Don't bring expensive shoes then, it's your property take responsibility lmao".

A Hyde Park Winter Wonderland spokesperson told MyLondon: "We are investigating an isolated incident of alleged theft at the Ice Rink. We are speaking with the visitor and have recommended she escalate this matter to the police.

"We take any allegations of theft seriously and will work with the relevant authorities to resolve this issue.

"Items at the Ice Rink are never left unattended, and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has strict lost property procedures.

"Our lost property department works hard to return any lost items to the public, and at the end of the event, any high-value items that remain are turned over to the police."
