‘Girl get that bag’: Woman orders Caesar salad at Disney. Then she feels a crunch when taking a bite

Disney World is supposed to be the place where everything feels a little more magical, from the rides to the food courts. But every now and then, reality sneaks in and snaps you right out of the fairytale. One visitor says that it happened the moment she sat down with a simple Caesar salad.

Disney World Guest Finds an Inedible Surprise in Her Salad

TikTok user Meggs (@meggs99) posted a video that pulled in more than 534,700 views, and right away she shows something you never expect to find in your bowl of lettuce.

“A bolt in my salad at Disney World!!” she writes on the screen, preparing us for what we’re about to see.

“Never in my life, but I’m at Disney and there’s a screw inside of my salad,” she says before showing an actual heavy-duty bolt from the middle of her meal. “Are you kidding?” she asks.

Her caption reads, “POV: You think you’re about to enjoy a magical Disney salad… until you realize that ‘crunch’ in your salad is a bolt.” She later clarified it wasn’t a screw, technically, but that didn’t make it better.

She Shares An Update

In a follow-up video, she fills in more details.

“Hey guys, I got a lot of comments asking for some sort of update,” she says. She explains she was eating at Cosmic Ray’s in Magic Kingdom. She ate about half her salad before noticing “metal at the bottom.” When she poked around with her fork, she uncovered the bolt.

She walked it over to a cast member, who immediately looked shocked. “She tried to take the salad away from me pretty quickly,” Meggs says. She held on to it until the manager arrived.

The manager took her information, refunded her whole meal, and handed her one Lightning Lane pass. Meggs also says she filed a formal complaint with Guest Relations and is waiting for a further response.

In another clip, she jokes about it by showing someone lying in bed scrolling on their phone with the caption: “Me waiting for Disney to pay up for the [screw emoji] in my salad.”

Commenters Think She Deserves More

Viewers found the situation appalling, with many telling her she should push harder.

“Girl demand you get a night in the castle suite,” one person wrote.

“Give us a haul when they give u free stuff lol,” another added.

On her update, people couldn’t believe the compensation:

“A Lightning Lane?!? That’s it???”

Others were hung up on the cast member’s reaction. “Love how she was trying to take the salad away from you to hide the evidence lol.”

Not everyone agreed she deserved more. One user argued, “You got a refund and a Lightning Lane. Personally, I’d be happy with that considering you weren’t injured. The cast member went the extra mile.”

How Could This Even Happen?

Viewers offered their theories, many centered on the reality of large-scale kitchens. A few pointed to loose metal from ceiling vents. Others said salads are often mixed in big batches, so once something falls in, it could easily get portioned out without anyone noticing.

Some suggested the bolt could have shaken loose from a refrigerator shelf. Others wondered if the lettuce or dressing came from prepackaged bags where the bolt may have already been present.

There’s no definite explanation yet, and Disney hasn’t said anything publicly. We’ve reached out to Disney World through their website’s contact form and to Meggs via TikTok messages to find out more.

Other Diners Say They’ve Found Similar Things

Meggs’ experience struck a nerve, partly because others say they’ve dealt with the same thing in different kitchens.

“I worked at Cinderella’s Royal Table and one time a kid’s mac and cheese was sent back with a screw in it,” one former employee wrote. “I guess it’s more common than it should be LOL.”

Another user shared, “Not at Disney, but I had a bolt end up in my food at the restaurant I worked at. I think it came from the overhead vents or something.”

And someone else said, “This happened to me at LongHorn once!!!!!”
