A young girl unable to say her own name was discovered wandering alone in the street on Monday evening.
Police put out an urgent appeal for help to find her parents or guardian.
The girl, who was not been able to tell them her name or where she is from, was found on her own in Brent, north west London, at around 8.56pm.
Officers were called to Byron Road in Wembley after a member of the public raised the alarm.
The youngster has since been reunited with her parents after the Met Police managed to track them down.

The full appeal by Met Police said: "Police are working to trace the parents or guardian of a young girl found alone in the street this evening in Brent.
"Officers were called to Byron Road, Wembley at around 20:56hrs, after the girl was discovered by a member of the public.
"Police have been making enquiries to trace her family but so far they have not been located.
"The child is not able to communicate her name or address to officers.
"She is safe and well and being looked after by officers."
