A teenage girl was allegedly drugged then sexually assaulted by a man she had just met near Sydney's Central Station.
The girl was speaking to the man on Hay Street, Haymarket, about 7.30pm on Wednesday before they walked to a nearby car park, police say.
The man allegedly gave her an intoxicating substance and then sexually assaulted her.
After he left, the girl contacted a friend who notified police.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad and police across Central Metro Region worked together to identify and locate the man, aged 34.
He was arrested at Waterloo late on Thursday and is due to face court on Friday.
He's been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16 years, attempted aggravated sexual assault and using an intoxicating substance to commit an indictable offence.
