Girl dragged by the hair and stamped on in vicious fight caught on camera

Appalling scenes of a fight in the middle of playing fields show a girl's head being stamped on.

The video, apparently taken yesterday at New Brighton promenade, shows a vicious altercation between two teenage girls.

It is not known what led up to the incident, but it shows two girls - one with red hair and one with blonde - grappling and raining blows on each other.

They are watched by another group of girls, who far from trying to stop it, egg them on with calls of "get her down" and "wig her now."

Shockingly, another girl then proceeds to drag the blonde girl along the ground by the hair after she has been knocked to the floor, before encouraging the red-haired girl to stamp on her head while she lies helpless on the ground.

The footage ends with two of the attackers running off. A small dog can be seen on the edge of the melee.

There is also believed to have been a baby present, although they cannot be seen in the footage.

Merseyside Police were approached for comment.
