A brave schoolgirl told how she hid in a milk fridge when a white supremacist opened fire at a US supermarket.
Londin Thomas, eight, huddled in the cooler with her parents at the back of Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo, New York, where the teenage gunman slaughtered 10 people on Saturday.
The family had visited the store to buy supplies for her mum's birthday when Payton Gendron, 18, launched his attack.
Londin and her dad Lamont Thomas told WKBW how their mum was in the meat section while they went to grab ingredients to bake a surprise cake when shots were fired.
The youngster added: "We all ran to the back where the milk freezes were at and he was shooting at the milk.
"The milk was leaking through the metal but the bullet did not go through the metal. My dad was just trying to hide me."
Mr Thomas told the publication that his first thought was to grab his daughter and run to the back of the shop.
He covered her mouth with his hand while bullets tore through the aisles and gallons of milk exploded around them.
"They never stopped You just gotta think, I know I'm not in this situation that I thought I'd never be," he added.
Londin's mum Julie Hartwell told how she feared for her daughter as she heard the gunman's footsteps getting closer and louder.
She said: "My first instinct was dropping down to the floor and crawling on my chest.
"Not really trying to put my head up, not really trying to look at anything. I was just trying to get somewhere safe.
"But at the same time, I'm worried about my daughter."
Survivors were in shock as they staggered out of the supermarket, where 10 dead bodies littered the floor.
Many were devastated when they realised their loved ones were still inside including Ms Hartwell who threw herself to the ground outside.
She said the 20 minutes separated from her family were some of the longest moments of her life.
The family had fled the supermarket from different exits and were reunited 20 minutes later.
Gendron shot 11 black people and two white people during the massacre, according to police.
Dressed in military gear, the teen live streamed the horror attack with a helmet camera before surrendering to authorities.
New video footage shows the teen being cuffed by police following the mass shooting.
"Oh my God, he shot so many people in there," one man cried.
Twisted Gendron scrawled the n-word on his rifle before carrying out the supermarket shooting.
The vicious spree was uploaded on live-streaming platform Twitch where a video showed him mowing down his tragic victims.
In the hours after the attack, a vile 180-page manifesto was released online with details of the absurd motive behind the attack.
