A young girl has died in Spain after falling overboard and being hit by her parents' boat, it has been reported.
The eight-year-old lost her life on Tuesday afternoon after she was hit by the boat in a cove off Sa Tuna beach in Begur, the Civil Guard told Europa Press.
She reportedly fell into the sea before being fatally struck.
The girl's mother and a third person also fell into the water beside her, La Vanguardia reported.
All three were taken ashore by a private boat.
The mother survived the incident and the third person, who fell unconscious, was revived on the beach.
The Civil Guard was called shortly after 7pm.
An investigation has now been launched into the incident.
Sa Tuna is located north east along the coast from Barcelona and is on the Costa Brava.
A similar incident occurred last month, Elespanol reported.
Another eight-year-old girl fell into the sea at La Manga del Mar Menor in Murcia.
She was hit by a jet ski and died.
